Author: The Book of 1 Chronicles does not specifically name its author. The tradition is that 1 and 2 Chronicles were written by Ezra. Date of Writing: The Book of 1 Chronicles was likely written between and B.C. Purpose of Writing: The Books of 1 & 2 Chronicles cover mostly the same information as 1 & 2 Samuel and 1 & 2 Kings. Perhaps the biggest distinction is that 1 & 2 Chronicles. The six-minute serial, which Russell also read on air in the character of Uncle Mose, ran until during which time he wrote over scripts. Between and he also wrote eight plays, all but one of which had the same setting as the "Chronicles" (Pigeon Inlet) and many of the familiar characters.

The book of 1st Chronicles is a book of Narrative History, and Genealogies. The author appears to be the prophet Ezra who wrote it circa B.C. It covers the events from to B.C. Key personalities are King David and Solomon. This book parallels some of 2nd Samuel, and therefore describes similar events. It was written after the exile.

The books of 1 and 2 Chronicles were originally one book. Like the books of Kings, this is a historical book. However, the books of Kings focused on the northern kingdom, Israel, and this book focuses on the southern kingdom, Judah. The two books of Chronicles cover about the same time period as 2 Samuel and 1 and 2 Kings. The highly successful “The Chronicles of Uncle Mose” continued until During this period Ted also wrote several radio plays, all of which were broadcast by CBC. The last years of his working life were spent on the faculty of Memorial University (English department) from which he retired in
